Charlie Adam has managed Fleetwood Town since December 31, 2023. Fleetwood Town’s manager, Charlie Adam, intends to recruit an experienced coach to join his staff. This decision follows the departure of assistant manager Maurice Ross, who left to return to Scotland to be nearer to his family. Meanwhile, Matt Lawlor, who previously managed Fleetwood’s under-21s squad, will be promoted to a first-team coaching role under Adam. Adam stated to BBC Radio Lancashire, “I just feel that I need someone with experience beside me that can guide me and help me given the opportunity.” Adam, serving in his initial managerial position, has held the role for nearly a year, though he was unable to prevent the team’s relegation to League Two. The club, known as The Cod Army, currently sits 16th in the fourth tier, having secured only one victory in their last nine matches. The 39-year-old Adam commented, “This is a decision that I’ve made with the club that I feel I need a bit of a mentor.” He added, “We’re a young coaching group and I feel that experience is probably needed.”
