An additional five individuals have been apprehended and formally accused in relation to disturbances linked to football in Edinburgh City Centre. These individuals, comprising two 19-year-old men, an 18-year-old, a 24-year-old, and a 16-year-old youth, faced charges concerning events that occurred in St Andrew Square subsequent to the Scottish Premiership fixture between Hibernian and Motherwell on October 5. According to Police Scotland, law enforcement officers were subjected to violence in the aftermath of the game held at Easter Road. All five individuals have been released conditionally, with a commitment to attend court at a subsequent time. Concurrently, the police force indicated that efforts are underway to secure football banning orders against them. This development raises the cumulative count of individuals charged in connection with the disorder associated with the match to 14, with all accused persons falling within the age range of 16 to 32. Chief Inspector Craig Rogerson commented: “Officers work hard to create a safe environment not just at football matches but also after the event. These arrests send a strong message that we will not tolerate football related disorder in any form.” Post navigation Man Jailed for Four Years After Deliberately Starting Fire Man Sentenced to Prison for Sexual Abuse of Two Children
