Authorities have apprehended four men and a woman in connection with suspected modern slavery and forced labor offenses. Lancashire Police responded to a residence located on Church Street in Blackpool, prompted by concerns regarding individuals residing in the dilapidated property, which is currently undergoing renovation. According to officers, multiple individuals were removed from the location on Wednesday with the stated purpose to “ensure their welfare.” The individuals detained, comprising men aged 44, 47, 52, and 46, along with a 53-year-old woman, were undergoing questioning concerning allegations of modern slavery, servitude, and forced labor offenses, as reported by the police force. Additionally, the 52-year-old man was taken into custody on suspicion of committing immigration offenses.
