Emergency crews are addressing a fire affecting 20 vehicles at a facility in North Somerset. Avon Fire and Rescue received notification of the incident at 00:53 GMT, concerning a fire located on Bourne Lane in Blagdon. In a statement, the fire service said: “Crews from Bedminster, Weston-super-Mare, Blagdon, Winscombe and Yatton used height pressure hoses with water to control the fire and breathing apparatus to fight the fire.” A single crew remains at the location to ensure safety. The fire is presumed to have been accidental, and fortunately, no casualties were reported. This incident occurred during a demanding period for the fire service, which also involved a fire at a substantial storage building at Worle Quarry in Weston-super-Mare. The fire service stated: “Crews were called at 08:18 GMT on 5 November and used high volume water pumps and water jets to control the fire.” The origin of this fire is considered to be accidental ignition, and personnel are still present at the site to continue securing the area.
