A fire has extended to three properties in Hassocks, according to the West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service (WSFRS). The service stated it was first alerted to the incident on Brighton Road, Hassocks, just after 14:00 GMT. At the height of the blaze, six fire engines, an aerial ladder platform, and a control support unit were present at the scene. The WSFRS also confirmed that no injuries have been reported and one dog was rescued from the location. Residents in the vicinity are being advised to avoid the area if possible and to keep all doors and windows closed. The fire service has also announced a road closure between Stonepound Crossroads and Clayton Tunnel, which is anticipated to remain in effect “for some time”.
