Edoardo Bove, a midfielder for Fiorentina, has been admitted to intensive care at a hospital following his collapse on the field during his team’s Serie A fixture against Inter Milan on Sunday. The game was halted in the 16th minute after the occurrence and subsequently called off. According to an official statement from Fiorentina, Bove’s vital signs were stable upon his arrival at the hospital, and he is “currently under pharmacological sedation and hospitalised in intensive care.” The Italian club also stated that he is scheduled for re-evaluation within the upcoming 24 hours. The statement concluded by noting, “He arrived at the emergency room in stable hemodynamic conditions and the first cardiological and neurological tests performed have ruled out acute damage to the central nervous system and the cardio-respiratory system.” The 22-year-old Bove unexpectedly collapsed on the pitch, leading to an immediate halt in play as players from both teams promptly gestured for medical personnel to attend to him, subsequently forming a protective circle around him. He was then transported off the field on a stretcher and placed into an awaiting ambulance, following the referee’s instruction for both teams’ players to exit the pitch. The midfielder initially joined Fiorentina in August on a season-long loan agreement from Roma, with an option for a permanent transfer. He scored his inaugural goal for La Viola in October, notably against his parent club. The Italian international has represented his country at various youth levels, up to the under-21 squad, but has not yet received a senior national team cap. Fiorentina currently holds the third position in Serie A standings, sharing the same number of points as Inter. Rocco Commisso, president of Fiorentina, expressed his support, stating: “Forza Edoardo, we’re with you. You’re a strong boy with a great character. We’re reaching out to his family during these moments.” Giuseppe Marotta, Inter’s president, told Sky Italia: “Inter and the entire football world express their closeness to Bove’s family and Fiorentina.” He added, “The decision to postpone the match was spontaneous on everyone’s part, we are a community, all the players and even the referee were emotionally involved. We hope it is nothing serious.” David de Gea, Bove’s team-mate and former Manchester United goalkeeper, shared a post on X, stating: “God please.” This message was accompanied by a prayer hands emoji. His parent club, Roma, also conveyed a message on X: “One of us, we are all with you.” The official Serie A account on X also posted: “Forza Edoardo. We’re all with you.” Post navigation UFC 309 Fighters to Revert to Original Glove Design Aston Villa’s Performance Post-European Fixtures and Their Upward Trajectory
