Aberystwyth Town 2-4 Cardiff City: Ffion Price achieved a second-half hat-trick, enabling current champions Cardiff City to overcome a two-goal deficit and defeat Aberystwyth, who remain winless, at Park Avenue. Lleucu Mathias put Aberystwyth in front with a free-kick three minutes prior to half-time. Rebecca Mathias then extended the home team’s lead just as the first half concluded, presenting Iain Darbyshire’s squad with a significant challenge. Price reignited the Bluebirds’ hopes on the 60-minute mark with her fourth goal of the season, subsequently completing her brace with a powerful strike in the 79th minute. The 27-year-old then scored her third goal from a lofted free-kick in the 89th minute, before Fiona Barry added a fourth goal late in the game, propelling the Bluebirds to the top of the league standings. Aberystwyth remains at the bottom of the table, having accumulated only one point from six matches.
