Ferry passengers have been able to resume their journeys after Manx services recommenced, following the cancellation of multiple sailings attributed to gales across the Irish Sea. The morning departure of the flagship vessel Manxman from Douglas to Heysham, along with its return trip, were both advanced by two hours. However, the Isle of Man Steam Packet Company has subsequently canceled the evening’s sailings to Heysham and all Liverpool crossings scheduled for Saturday. An amber warning for severe gales, with potential for storm-force conditions, has been issued for Saturday, effective from 04:00 to 23:59, as Storm Darragh is expected to impact the island. Additionally, the Ronaldsway Met Office has released a yellow weather warning for heavy rain, valid from 15:00 until 12:00 on Saturday. Ferry travelers have already encountered considerable disruption due to strong winds over the Irish Sea, which led to the scrapping of all services on Thursday and the cancellation of Wednesday’s daytime crossings.
