Tidal conditions have necessitated the rescheduling of several Isle of Man passenger ferry services. Specifically, the Manxman’s overnight return journey from Heysham experienced a delayed departure, setting off at 05:00 GMT, attributed to the prevailing conditions at the Lancashire Port. Consequently, subsequent sailings have also been postponed due to the tides; the morning voyage is now scheduled to depart at 10:15, with its return service expected in Douglas at 20:45. Furthermore, the Isle of Man Steam Packet Company has announced the cancellation of Thursday evening’s journey to Lancashire, along with its corresponding early-hours return service. These recent alterations follow disruptions experienced over the weekend, which were caused by severe gales across the Irish Sea, brought by Storm Darragh. To manage a backlog, the Steam Packet has been deploying its back-up vessel, the Ben-my-Chree, for supplementary freight sailings.
