Firefighters were called to rescue a cat that had become trapped in a drainpipe. The feline, named John, a female, was wedged within a garage and required extraction using specialized small tools. She was subsequently transported to a veterinary clinic for the removal of the remaining section of the pipe. According to Avon Fire and Rescue, personnel from Clevedon, Somerset, responded to the incident around 10:00 GMT. The fire service stated on Facebook: “The easiest and least distressing option was to cut a section of the pipe out with John in situ.” They added: “She was then transported to a local vets who sedated her in order for the rescue to continue. No serious injury was found.” John remained under the care of the veterinarian and her family for observation until her condition allowed her to go back home.
