Emergency medical services were summoned around 17:00 GMT on Sunday to the Mile End roundabout, situated on the A5 close to Oswestry, Shropshire, according to information from the West Midlands Ambulance Service. West Mercia Police confirmed that both the 81-year-old operator of the blue Peugeot car and the 33-year-old operator of the grey Renault box van succumbed to their injuries at the crash site. Additionally, a woman and a child traveling as passengers in the van were transported to the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
