Two men have been taken into custody following a three-vehicle collision that led to the death of a driver and serious injuries to a child. The child, who was a passenger in the white Toyota Yaris where the fatality occurred, was airlifted to a hospital. One man, aged 29, was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and drug driving, while a second man, aged 33, was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving. The incident took place on Saturday at approximately 18:15 GMT on the A483 at Belan, near Welshpool, Powys. The victim died at the scene of the crash. The Yaris was traveling south, while the other vehicles involved, a red BMW X3 and a blue Audi S4, were heading north. The road was closed overnight for investigation and reopened on Sunday at 09:50. Dyfed-Powys Police are supporting the family of the deceased and are appealing for witnesses to the event.
