A gas explosion aboard a pleasure boat resulted in the death of a dog and the hospitalization of two individuals. Emergency services responded to the incident at Chirk marina in Wrexham county on Saturday at 18:10 GMT. The two occupants managed to exit the craft, which subsequently sank, sustaining only minor injuries. However, the fire extended to an adjacent 40-foot canal boat. Another vessel, whose mooring lines had severed after igniting, began to drift but was prevented from colliding with other boats. According to a statement posted on Instagram by North Wales Fire Service Green Watch, no contaminants or wreckage entered the primary canal waterway. Copyright 2024 BBC. All rights reserved.
