A farm fire resulted in the deaths of a “substantial number of livestock.” Cleveland Fire Brigade responded to an incident at Margrove Park in Guisborough, located near Middlesbrough, during the early morning hours. The incident also led to the destruction of two barn sheds, 600 bales of hay, and various pieces of equipment, such as a tractor and a digger. According to the fire service, the farm’s owner was left “devastated” by the extensive damage and losses, and an investigation into the fire’s origin will be conducted. Emergency crews reached the farm at 04:49 GMT, and the fire was brought under control by 06:00 GMT. Personnel from fire stations in Coulby Newham, Guisborough, Redcar, Saltburn, and Skelton were involved in efforts to extinguish the fire. The fire service stated that crews stayed on standby to guarantee the safety of the area and to provide assistance to the owner.
