An extensive fire engulfed a substantial farm structure, leading to the collapse of its roof. The incident commenced at Rickfield Farm, Milcombe near Banbury, Oxfordshire, on Thursday shortly before 20:30 GMT. More than 40 firefighters battled the blaze throughout the night within the premises, which housed multiple businesses, such as furniture restoration and storage operations. Residents in the vicinity were advised to keep their windows and doors shut. Oxfordshire County Council stated: “It was a really challenging incident due to needing large amounts of water… made more difficult by the roof entirely collapsing meaning we were only able to fight the fire from outside the building.” No injuries have been reported. Emergency crews are anticipated to stay at the farm in the village for the duration of Friday. An inquiry into the origin of the fire is scheduled to commence once it is completely put out.
