The family of a man who died in a collision close to Stoke-on-Trent stated that he possessed an infectious personality and was the “life and soul of the party”. Tom Grindey, a resident of Trentham, succumbed to his injuries at the site of the incident on the A34 Stone Road around 20:30 GMT on Saturday. In a statement honoring the 21-year-old, Mr. Grindey’s family described him as a “dearly loved” son, brother, and grandson. They further stated, “Tom was so well liked and loved by everyone for his infectious character.” They continued, “He was the life and soul of the party and would do anything for anybody, lighting up the room wherever he went with his lovely smile and practical jokes. He will be greatly missed by so many.” The family also extended their gratitude to individuals for their comforting words, messages, and support. The collision, which occurred between the Trentham Estate and the Monkey Forest island, involved a grey BMW, operated by Mr. Grindey, and a black Renault Clio. According to police, a passenger in the BMW and the driver of the Renault were transported to the hospital and have subsequently been released. Law enforcement officials appealed to anyone who may have been present in the vicinity at that time and possesses information or dashcam footage to contact them.
