The relatives of a man who was fatally stabbed have described him as the “life and soul of the party”. Craig Yorke, 28, sustained fatal stab wounds in Eldon Lane near Bishop Auckland, County Durham, during the early hours of Saturday morning. A statement from his family conveyed that the father of two girls was “much-loved” and “always put others before himself”. An 18-year-old man, along with two boys aged 17 and 16, have been apprehended and charged with his murder. Police reported that Mr Yorke died on High Street at approximately 03:30 GMT. His family stated: “Craig was a much-loved dad to his two girls Sadie and Verity. He was a fun-loving character, and he always put others before himself.” The three teenagers appeared at Newton Aycliffe Magistrates’ Court and did not enter any pleas. They were remanded in custody and are scheduled to appear before Newcastle Crown Court on a date yet to be confirmed.
