Two years following the unsolved murder of a grandmother who was fatally shot in her residence, her family has issued a statement directed at her killers. Jacqueline Rutter, aged 53, lost her life on Sunday, October 30, 2022, after opening the door of her Moreton, Wirral, home. While Merseyside Police have apprehended eight individuals in relation to the case, no charges have been filed to date. Through a statement released by the police force, her family implored those responsible to reflect: “How would you feel if this was your mum, sister or relative?” Investigators indicated their belief that two or three individuals participated in the “targeted” shooting, which occurred on Meadowbrook Road around 01:00 GMT. A black Vauxhall Insignia, observed in the vicinity between 00:45 and 01:15 GMT, is suspected of being connected to the incident. Ms. Rutter’s family members further stated: “Our second Christmas without you and it still doesn’t feel real that this is your reality – murdered at the hands of someone else in the most cruel way.” They added: “Every day we sit here and wonder why your killers had to make it so final for you and cause a lifetime of suffering on your family and friends.” Speaking directly to the perpetrators, the family asserted that “you chose” to shoot a “terrified” Ms. Rutter, who, according to them, sought refuge with her step-father, with whom she resided, before collapsing and succumbing to her injuries in his embrace. Detective Chief Inspector Steve McGrath, who is overseeing the investigation, confirmed that multiple individuals “remain under active investigation” and encouraged anyone possessing information to present it. He stated: “Don’t assume what you know is trivial or already known. We will make that assessment, and I can assure people who may feel fearful of coming forward that we will deal with all information sensitively.” Detective Chief Inspector McGrath also implored those connected to the perpetrators: “please search your conscience and come forward with what you know, so that Jacqueline’s family can finally find peace and justice.” Post navigation Former Abercrombie & Fitch CEO’s Partner Enters Not Guilty Plea to Sex Trafficking Allegations City of London Police Challenges Compensation Order for Tasered Individual
