Exeter City defender Johnly Yfeko is anticipated to be unavailable for up to 10 weeks following a hamstring injury. The 21-year-old is currently on loan at the League One club from Rangers, with an agreement that includes an option for a permanent transfer at the conclusion of the season. Yfeko has made a notable impression during his tenure at Exeter City, having started 11 games this season. He has been a crucial component of an Exeter defence that has achieved seven clean sheets, including five consecutively, in League One. Manager Caldwell conveyed his thoughts on the injury to BBC Radio Devon, stating, “It’s not as bad as it could have been, but it’s still going to be 8-10 weeks, which is a bit of a blow.” Caldwell also remarked, “He’s a young player who works extremely hard and who will be back on the quicker side of that.” This period represents the former Leicester City academy player’s initial extensive exposure to senior men’s football. Last season, he appeared once for Rangers in the Scottish League Cup and three times for the Glasgow club’s ‘B’ team in the Scottish League Challenge Cup. Caldwell further commented, “It’s a big blow, he’s been amazing.” He added, “He probably needed a little break physically anyway, he’s played a lot of football for a young player who has never played at this level before.” Caldwell concluded, “So I always think these things happen for a reason, but he’ll work hard, he’ll come back and he’ll be better for his experience he’s had so far in League One.” Post navigation Graham Potter: Premier League Clubs Require Sporting Directors Forest’s Jota Expresses Pride in Grealish Comparisons
