Residents have been authorized to return to their homes following an earlier evacuation that was prompted by the discovery of suspicious items. According to Cambridgeshire Police, law enforcement personnel encountered the items while executing a warrant at a residence located on Welland Close in St Ives during the early hours of Monday morning. Specialized explosive ordnance disposal teams were dispatched to the scene, leading to the establishment of a 100m (328ft) security cordon and the closure of a road, which has subsequently been reopened. Police confirmed that an individual apprehended in connection with the warrant is currently in custody, and officers will maintain a presence at the property as searches proceed.
