A pub landlord has criticized “the most stupid thieves about” following a theft of money during a break-in at his establishment. Four masked intruders gained entry to The Three Colts, located in Buckhurst Hill, Essex, on Saturday morning. Landlord Adam Brooks stated on X that the individuals caused £1,500 in damage before absconding with between £200 and £300 in cash. Essex Police confirmed that their investigation into the burglary, which occurred on Princes Road, is ongoing. The police force added that the burglars, who were wearing gloves, stole three tills. Mr. Brooks, a political commentator who frequently appears on GB News, commended the “fantastic” police response and urged anyone with information to contact officers. “The idiots have caused more damage, and value in the till equipment, than what they might of got in coins in the till draws,” he wrote online. He added, “These are the most stupid thieves about, someone must have a name.” Mr. Brooks described the break-in as a “hard one to swallow,” noting that an arsonist had torched the building three years ago. He further commented on X, “These minor break-ins hit me in the pocket, it’s the damage to window, the ripped out till systems, this game is hard enough.” Follow Essex news on BBC Sounds, Facebook, Instagram and X.
