A frequently used bridge in Hull is scheduled for an overnight closure to facilitate a safety inspection. The Ennerdale Bridge, situated on Raich Carter Way, is slated for closure from 19:30 GMT to 06:30 over a period of three nights, commencing on November 26. Pedestrian walkways will continue to be accessible, and an indicated diversion route will be established. According to Hull City Council, this routine examination will involve scrutinizing every component of the structure, encompassing the deck, its supports, and the joints. Councillor Mark Ieronimo stated: “We understand that this is a popular route for road users, but it is crucial that these inspections are conducted to ensure the continued safety and reliability of the structure.” Previously in September, the bridge experienced a two-night closure to allow engineers to investigate a malfunction within its lifting mechanism.
