Elderly Woman Dies Following Suspected Hit-and-Run Incident

Authorities reported that a woman in her eighties passed away following a collision with a Jaguar whose driver did not remain at the location of the incident. The incident occurred on Saturday on the A13 London Road in Benfleet, as the individual had just disembarked from a coach at a bus stop. The police stated they received notification from the ambulance service around 23:30 GMT, and the woman was pronounced dead at the site of the accident. Subsequently, a male individual was apprehended on suspicion of causing death through dangerous driving; he has since been released while inquiries continue.
