An incident involving a vehicle near a level crossing in Egham led to interruptions in train services connecting parts of Surrey and London on Friday. According to South Western Railway, no trains operated in either direction between Staines and Virginia Water for several hours during Friday afternoon. A spokesperson confirmed at 17:45 GMT that “all lines had reopened,” and by 20:00, they stated that “disruption to services had ended.” Trains traveling to and from stations including London Waterloo, Reading, and Windsor & Eton Riverside were impacted. South Western Railway advised passengers that their tickets would be accepted on London Underground, TfL, and certain local bus services. Network Rail Wessex posted an image of the damage at Egham on X and thanked passengers for their patience.
