Edward Hill has been selected as one of Alderney’s representatives in the States of Guernsey, marking the second time in two months he has topped the polls in Alderney. He was also the leading vote-getter in last month’s general election. Alex Snowdon will serve alongside him, having successfully retained his position as an Alderney representative. Mr. Snowdon secured his seat after receiving just four fewer votes than Hill. The plebiscite election, held on Saturday, saw six candidates compete for the two available positions. Steve Roberts, the other incumbent representative, was not re-elected. A voter turnout of 43% was recorded in the election, with a total of 618 votes issued, including postal votes.
