Edinburgh Fatal Collision: 20-Year-Old Pedestrian Dies After Being Struck by Vehicle

A 20-year-old man has died following a collision with a car in Edinburgh. The pedestrian was hit by a grey Volvo XC60 on Dundee Street, Fountainbridge, at approximately 17:30 on Sunday. He was pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver of the vehicle, a 51-year-old man, was arrested in connection with the incident and subsequently released. Police have commenced an investigation to ascertain the full circumstances surrounding the crash, and individuals with information are encouraged to contact them. Sgt Dave Waddell stated: “Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the deceased at this tragic time.“As our inquiries continue, we ask anyone who was in the area and either witnessed the crash, or has potential dashcam footage from around that time, to please contact police.”
