Eddie Howe spoke to BBC Sport following Newcastle’s loss against Brentford, conveying significant frustration and disappointment regarding how the team conceded goals. He clarified that the issue extended beyond individual errors, stating, “It”s not even individual mistakes, there’s two or three actions I’m not happy with for each goal.” Howe stressed the need for improvement in these scenarios. He noted that Newcastle had control of the game during the first half, but it subsequently eluded them after the third goal. While acknowledging the team’s effectiveness as an attacking unit, Howe indicated that their inability to combine all elements of play has led to inconsistent results. Regarding their recent form, which includes a streak of four games without a victory, Howe characterized it as “a strange sequence.” He recalled three consecutive wins against formidable opponents, followed by a period of varied performances. Howe concluded by emphasizing the necessity for the team “to get it over the line.”
