Organisers have announced that a free seafront airshow is scheduled to return next year, having achieved its “cost neutral target.” The Eastbourne International Airshow, also referred to as Airbourne, is set to mark its 31st year, taking place from 14 – 17 August 2025. Previously, Eastbourne Borough Council had indicated that the event’s continuation was contingent on sufficient funds being raised. Stephen Holt, the Council leader, expressed his “delight” that the “popular and important event” would proceed. A statement released by the organisers affirmed: “In 2025 we’ll need to ensure the event can run on a cost neutral basis once again.” The statement also extended gratitude to “all those who donated, sponsored, volunteered or financially supported Airbourne in 2024.” Airbourne typically draws substantial audiences along the two-mile flying display line situated on the town’s seafront. The event, which originated in 1993, experienced cancellations in both 2020 and 2021 as a result of the pandemic. For its 2025 iteration, the airshow is planned to include four days of flying displays, military exhibitions, ground attractions, children’s entertainment, fireworks, and tribute shows.
