Aspiring digital professionals in East Sussex will have the chance to undergo training provided by experts from the industry. The initiative will involve Year 10 students across 10 schools undertaking six-month projects, supported by dedicated mentors. Already, five schools located in Peacehaven, Robertsbridge, Uckfield, and two in St Leonards have committed to participating. The Digital Futures Accelerator (DFA) program within the county has secured £125,000 in funding from the Careers and Enterprise Company, an organization responsible for delivering training throughout England. TechNative Digital is slated to conduct assemblies, after which interested pupils will engage in a six-month project focused on developing a digital product. A judging event for the completed designs is scheduled for June 2025. Skills East Sussex, the East Sussex Careers Hub, and TechNative Digital are managing the allocation of these funds, with additional backing from East Sussex County Council.
