Government funding totaling £1 million is set to be distributed among various projects designed to enhance training and improve employability across Hastings and Rother. East Sussex County Council announced its intention to allocate the Skills Capital Fund to a total of 11 projects, aligning with the strategic priorities of Skills East Sussex. The council stated that this investment aims to support the local economy and residents by ensuring the availability of a skilled workforce and relevant training for both young people and adults. Organizations were invited to bid for a portion of the funding, which was awarded to Hastings Borough Council and Rother District Council, and 23 bids were subsequently received. Among the successful projects are the establishment of a new digital skills classroom at East Sussex College, an initiative dedicated to supporting adults with learning disabilities and autism, the advancement of virtual reality healthcare training at Bexhill College, the deployment of mobile training units for the land-based sector in rural Sussex, and the creation of a community carpentry studio. Councillor Penny di Cara remarked: “The Skills Capital Fund will make a huge difference to so many people in the Hastings and Rother area.” She further commented: “We are delighted to have been able to work with colleagues at borough and district councils to distribute the money among extremely worthy projects.” Post navigation Community Group Revitalizes Wirral Library Following Council Closure Legacy of the Man Who Documented Armagh City’s Transformation
