Approximately 100 Halloween pumpkins have been provided as sustenance to an animal sanctuary situated in East Sussex. Nicola Neal, a resident of Buxted, transported the pumpkins to Freedom Farm Sanctuary, located in Brightling. She had gathered them from over 65 residences within the vicinity. This annual contribution to her friend Lynda Free, who manages the care of the sanctuary’s animals, has occurred annually since 2020. Ms Free expressed her gratitude, stating: “It’s really appreciated because obviously it costs me a lot to feed all six animals and it’s all self-funded.” According to Ms Neal, she was unable to accept additional pumpkins this year due to her Honda CR-V reaching its full capacity. The pumpkins serve as feed for the pigs, given that Ms Free noted the goats do not enjoy the seasonal treat.
