A local authority is encouraging individuals to support families facing difficulties this winter by contributing goods to their community food banks. East Riding of Yorkshire Council is specifically urging its residents to provide items to the East Riding Food Poverty Alliance (ERFPA) throughout the festive period. The ERFPA manages 13 food banks across East Yorkshire and is currently accepting a variety of provisions, including canned food, toiletries, and seasonal treats. Councillor Lyn Healing commented: “It’s important to give back this Christmas and help support those in need.” She further encouraged people to “get involved and help this vital cause” by donating items to one of the food banks in the area.
