East Midlands Airport (EMA) has recommended that passengers allocate additional travel time for their journeys next week, owing to an impending road closure. The A453 Ashby Road, situated in Castle Donington, Leicestershire, is scheduled for closure on weekdays between 20:00 GMT and 06:00, spanning from November 11 to November 19. National Highways will implement this closure, affecting the stretch between Pegasus and Finger Farm, to facilitate street lighting works and essential highway maintenance. An East Midlands Airport spokesperson indicated that this closure is expected to impact customers traveling for early morning flights and will necessitate a substantial diversion route. The spokesperson added: “We’re aware of works scheduled to take place on the A453 near the airport that could impact customers travelling to catch early flights on weekdays from November 11 to 19.”We understand that while works are underway there will be no access to the airport for vehicles approaching from the roundabout near Donington Moto Services. “A signed diversion will be in place and so we advise customers to allow extra time for their journeys.”” Additional details concerning the closure and the designated diversion route are accessible on the One Network website.
