Dundee United manager Jim Goodwin shared his post-match thoughts with BBC Scotland, stating that at halftime, Hibernian’s lead was merited. He elaborated, “They were the better team. We weren’t able to impose ourselves enough on them, they had an extra man in the middle of the park and we found it difficult to cope with.” Goodwin explained that adjustments were made during the break, involving both personnel and tactics, specifically switching to a back four. He noted, “We were a bit more aggressive in our press, didn’t allow Hibs to have comfortable possession and forced them into turning over the ball quite regularly. The difference in possession from ourselves was night and day.” He contended that the team’s second-half performance justified earning a point. Goodwin pointed out, “For all the possession Hibs did have, they’ve only had one shot on target throughout the 90 minutes. That tells you something about how well the boys in front of Jack Walton had been defending.” Goodwin admitted that the team is capable of playing better, contrasting the performance with a stronger showing earlier in the week. He concluded, “We played a lot better on Wednesday night against Motherwell, we should never have lost that game. Unfortunately, we came away with nothing. Today we haven’t played so well but we’ve managed to grind out a really important point.” Post navigation Williamson’s Mixed Performance in England’s Victory Over South Africa Hibernian 1-1 Dundee United: Late Penalty Secures Draw
