Jim Goodwin, the manager of Dundee United, addressed the media in advance of Saturday’s Premiership fixture against Motherwell. Key statements from his press conference included: Goodwin indicated that his team aims to “make amends” following their previous match, where they lost two points against Kilmarnock. Noting that only two points separate United and Motherwell in the league standings, Goodwin conceded that there is “a lot riding on the game for both teams,” and further remarked that Motherwell has experienced a “terrific season” up to this point. Following last weekend’s 1-1 draw with Kilmarnock, officials from United engaged in discussions with Willie Collum, the Scottish FA’s head of refereeing. Goodwin stated that “a few decisions in the game we were a little bit confused by,” and that the club sought “a bit of clarity.” Goodwin expressed his view that his squad will face considerable demands over the coming weeks due to the congested festive schedule, a period he considers “the most significant” phase of the campaign to date. Will Ferry, whom Goodwin referred to as “one of the signings of the season,” is suspended; however, Kristijan Trapanovski might be included in the matchday squad.
