Dundee United defender Kevin Holt has described his team’s return to the top-flight as a “great start,” yet he indicated a reluctance to “look at the league table too much.” Holt scored a penalty during his side’s 2-0 triumph over St Mirren on Saturday. This victory propelled fourth-placed United to an equal points total with Rangers, who currently hold third position. Speaking to BBC Scotland, the centre-back stated, “It is brilliant,” adding, “It has been a great start for us. But we speak about it all the time in terms of that is what it is – it is just a start. “We are just looking at a game at a time and making sure we pick up as many points as we can, not looking at the league table too much.”” Holt acknowledged his awareness of “how difficult the league can be” and conceded that United might “go through a wee rut” at some stage. Consequently, the defender believes it is crucial for the team to accumulate as many points as possible during their current period of strong performance. He further stated, “We would like to get as many on the board as early as we can,” continuing, “You know how much that will help you if you do have that wee lull at some point.”Hopefully we don’t and we just keep going from strength to strength, like we seem to be doing at the moment.””
