A drug trafficker received a 13-month prison sentence after a quantity of ketamine, valued at £1,200, was discovered at his residence. During a raid on the Gosforth home of Elliot Cook, aged 23, in January 2023, law enforcement officers located 78 grams (2.8 ounces) of the Class B substance, packaged in nine separate bags. This information was presented at Newcastle Crown Court. An examination of his mobile phone indicated that he had been involved in drug dealing and had offered to provide individuals with Class A MDMA since reaching the age of 17. Cook, residing at Glanton Wynd, pleaded guilty to charges related to involvement in the distribution of Class A and B drugs. Assistant judge advocate general Thomas Mitchell stated that while he could not definitively confirm Cook’s continuous drug dealing activity for the full four and a half years spanning from the messages to the police operation, he noted that Cook “clearly decided to return to the illegal trade.”
