Police have stated that a drug dealer, Abdulaziz Haruna, 26, who attempted to flee during a police raid, participated in an illicit operation valued at approximately £280,000. South Yorkshire Police reported that Haruna “came crashing through the door” in an effort to avoid apprehension when law enforcement personnel conducted a search of his Sheffield residence last year. A spokesperson for the force indicated that evidence of an operational drugs line, identified as “MO,” was discovered by officers during multiple raids. This evidence suggested Haruna’s involvement in distributing heroin and crack cocaine “on a large scale.” Haruna received a sentence of seven years and three months in prison at Sheffield Crown Court on Friday, having admitted guilt to charges of possession with intent to supply class A drugs. According to South Yorkshire Police, officers conducted searches of Haruna’s residence on Middlewood Drive East in February and May of 2023, where they located paper slips promoting the drugs line. During the May raid, law enforcement gained entry to the premises using a chainsaw and reported that Haruna “came crashing through the door” in an effort to flee. Haruna, who sustained glass-related injuries and was subsequently arrested and treated, was later discovered to have uploaded images to his Snapchat profile depicting him with substantial sums of money. Following Friday’s sentencing hearing, Detective Constable Darcy Hope commented: “Haruna denied any wrongdoing when we initially searched his home in February 2023.” He added: “But his desperate attempt to escape arrest during our second visit – in which he seriously endangered his own safety – suggested otherwise.” Det Con Hope concluded: “This has been a complex investigation involving numerous lines of inquiry which led to us being able to expose Haruna’s role in a sophisticated drug dealing enterprise.” Post navigation Inquest Hears Doctor Denies Telling Soldier to ‘Man Up’ Before Death Reports from Wales: Victim ‘Haunted’ by Laughing Rapist
