An individual has been apprehended in Droitwich on suspicion of attempting to rape a woman. The incident transpired around 22:40 GMT on Monday, when a 51-year-old woman was reportedly followed by a man along Ombersley Way. Law enforcement officials state that the man then grabbed the woman and endeavored to pull at her clothing. A 49-year-old male individual has been placed under arrest in connection with the suspected attempted rape. Officers are appealing for anyone with information that could aid the investigation to come forward. Detective Inspector Sharon Wallace-Rathmel stated: “It’s believed a white man, of slim build with broad shoulders, appeared from an alleyway which connects to Ombersley Way from Wey Close around the time of the incident and we’re keen to speak to anyone who may have seen him. He was wearing dark clothing and a face covering. Regular patrols are continuing to be carried out in the area, and I would encourage anyone concerned to speak to an officer.” For further engagement, BBC Hereford & Worcester is accessible on BBC Sounds, Facebook, X, and Instagram.
