An individual has been charged in relation to the death of a pedestrian who was hit by a vehicle in Midlothian last year. The 88-year-old man was walking his dog on Nivensknowe Road in Loanhead on the morning of December 19 when a Honda Civic struck him. He passed away in hospital four days subsequent to the incident, and his dog also perished in the collision. The 51-year-old operator of the car has been accused of a road traffic offence. He is scheduled to appear before a court at an unspecified future time.
