A driver has been fined and prohibited from operating a vehicle after causing a collision that resulted in the death of a 76-year-old man. The 76-year-old victim was struck by a black Ford Focus at a crossing on Brayford Way, near the University of Lincoln, on November 12, 2023. An air ambulance transported the man to a hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries the following day. Bramley Bince-Butcher, 45, of Linnet Close, Lincoln, entered a guilty plea to a charge of causing death by careless driving at Lincoln Magistrates’ Court on Thursday. He was subsequently sentenced to a £362 fine and a 12-month disqualification from driving.
