A driver has died following a collision involving five vehicles on a motorway in South Yorkshire. Emergency services were dispatched to the scene of the incident, located on the southbound carriageway of the M18 near junction 6, at approximately 10:45 GMT on Wednesday. South Yorkshire Police confirmed that one of the drivers was pronounced deceased at the scene. The motorway was closed in both directions between junctions 6 and 7 while investigations were conducted, but has since reopened, officers stated. A spokesperson for the force appealed for any witnesses, or anyone with dashcam or CCTV footage from the scene at the time of the collision, to make contact.
