Dozzell Believes Portsmouth is on an ‘Upward Trajectory’ Despite League Standing

Portsmouth currently occupies the last position in the Championship table, trailing 23rd-placed QPR and 22nd-placed Hull City by two points. Nevertheless, midfielder Andre Dozzell expresses optimism regarding the team’s current direction. Speaking to BBC Radio Solent, Dozzell stated, “Honestly, I feel like we are in a good place but it’s all good saying that. The main thing is getting three points and I feel that in the last month or so, we have took a stride in performances.” He further added, “Maybe sometimes the results haven’t reflected that but I feel like we are on an upward trajectory.” In November, Pompey secured their initial home victory of the season against Preston North End and concluded the month with a 2-2 draw away at Swansea. The team is scheduled to face Bristol City at Fratton Park this Saturday at 15:00 GMT. While Dozzell maintains a positive outlook on the team’s current situation, he acknowledges that there is still work to be done. Dozzell elaborated on areas for improvement, stating, “We want to be solid, we’ve got to protect the middle of the pitch, we’ve got to try and dominate games and I think that’s all what we have to try and do a bit better.” He concluded by emphasizing the need for consistency: “Now we’ve got to combine it all together. I think you’ve seen it in patches but now it’s just finding that consistency and dominating games.”
