The Manchester-based band Doves has requested fans’ understanding following the announcement of upcoming concert dates from which frontman Jimi Goodwin will be absent. The group is scheduled to launch their comeback album, *Constellations For The Lonely*, next year and has disclosed the schedule for three live performances occurring later this month. However, these concerts will proceed without Goodwin, whose struggles with mental health led Doves to cancel a portion of their previous live tour in 2021. Jez Williams, the band’s guitarist and vocalist, stated that he would assume vocal duties for these performances, noting that Goodwin was “doing great” but that the lead singer was “still not out of the woods.” Via a post on Doves’ X account, Williams conveyed that Goodwin “needs more time to recover,” and mentioned that he and his twin brother, drummer Andy Williams, would also contribute vocals to some of the tracks. He concluded by saying, “I hope this is cool and you understand/are accepting.” Goodwin himself commented that the band had been “working really hard” and expressed anticipation for performing a blend of new material, their 2020 album *Universal Want*, and “the old songs you know.” The recently announced Doves concerts are scheduled for Stoke, Birkenhead, and Hebden Bridge, all taking place during the final week of November.
