Don Cowie addressed the media ahead of Ross County’s upcoming Premiership match against Motherwell on Saturday. The following are the main points from his press conference: Cowie expressed his desire for his team to recover from their recent “really disappointing” 3-0 loss to Dundee United, a game in which County “capitulated” after what had been “a good first-half performance.” He further stated: “One thing about this group is they’ve responded when they’ve faced adversity and this is an opportunity to do that again.” Cowie affirmed that there is “a real belief among the group” and noted that their “performance levels at home have been really strong.” Regarding Motherwell, he commented: “They’re “a really good team who’ve had a fantastic season so far. They’ve been really consistent and we’re expecting a really tough challenge.” Given the busy festive fixture list, which includes an away fixture against Celtic, Cowie remarked that “every game is really difficult in this league” and emphasized the importance of focusing on the immediate future rather than looking too far ahead. With the January transfer window approaching, the Ross County manager indicated that he considers his squad to be “strong and healthy” but is “always evaluating.” He added: “There will be players that are disappointed with the lack of game-time but they’re all here for a reason, because I believe in them. If something does happen in January, it wont be too dramatic.”
