Passengers traveling by rail are experiencing delays on the route connecting Reading and Newbury. This disruption was caused by an incident that occurred in the Thatcham vicinity, leading to the closure of all railway lines between these two stations until just prior to 09:00 GMT. According to National Rail, services operating between the affected stations could face cancellations, delays of up to 30 minutes, or alterations, with the disruption anticipated to continue until 10:00. To transport rail passengers to the impacted stations during the line closure, taxis and a coach were deployed. Services running between Reading and Basingstoke remained operational without disruption. The specific rail routes impacted include those connecting London Paddington with Newbury, Bedwyn, Frome, Bristol Temple Meads, Paignton, and Plymouth, as well as services between Reading and Newbury or Bedwyn.
