A canoe excursion on the River Freshney featured two pugs with disabilities, Bella and Molly, alongside children and Grimsby environmentalist James Elliot, known as the Canoe River Cleaner. The purpose of the trip was to educate children about disability issues. Molly is paralysed, and Bella utilizes wheels for mobility. Sally Brien, the owner of the pugs, stated: “I want children to know that because the dogs’ legs do not work anymore it doesn’t mean their life ends”. Ms. Brien frequently employs Molly and Bella in efforts to promote mental health, conducting visits to nursing homes, schools, and scout groups. Mr. Elliot guided the children on the journey, providing lessons on the river, the environment, and disability. He commented, “It’s all about wellbeing and nature based activities. It’s important we keep kids and adults connected with nature.” Post navigation Motorcyclists’ Convoy Delivers Holiday Presents Uncovering the Narrative of a Church’s ‘Stunning’ Angel Roof
