For the fourth consecutive year, a digital light and sound exhibition has made its return to a city cathedral. Peterborough Cathedral is commencing its festive period with the introduction of Starlight by Luxmuralis, described as an immersive light and sound presentation. Starting Tuesday, the historic structure will undergo a transformation through the installation projected onto its interior walls, ceiling, and the West Front. Paul Stainton, the head of marketing for the cathedral, stated that this year’s outdoor component of the event would be free of charge, thereby enhancing its accessibility for families. Access to the interior display necessitates the purchase of tickets. In the previous year, the cathedral’s interior was lit up by a sequence of moving visuals, offering a multi-sensory experience. Mr. Stainton commented: “We’re thrilled to welcome Luxmuralis back to the Cathedral.”This year’s show promises to be more magical than ever, and by offering the outdoor display for free, we’re making it accessible for every family to experience the wonder that Starlight brings. “It’s a chance for the community to come together and enjoy this truly unique event in the heart of our city.” The exhibition will remain open at the 900-year-old cathedral until Saturday.
