Glentoran manager Declan Devine stated his team lacked “intensity and quality” following their 2-2 draw against struggling Loughgall at Lakeview Park. This result places Glentoran fifth in the Irish Premiership table. Dylan Connolly initially gave the Glens an early advantage, but Loughgall rallied to take the lead through goals from Lewis Francis and Nathaniel Ferris. After Jordan Jenkins had a goal disallowed for offside, Charlie Lindsay secured a point for Glentoran, prompting Devine to criticize his side’s performance. Devine informed BBC Sport NI, “Really poor from us, it’s a difficult opponent but our intensity and quality was really lacking.” He further elaborated on the match, saying, “We scored the goal early and then the two we conceded are really poor. We’ve been working really hard on defending set pieces and to concede a goal from one is really disappointing.” The draw maintains Glentoran’s fifth position in the league standings. Devine conveyed his frustration that his team could not build on their impressive victory against rivals Linfield from the previous week. He added, “We were nowhere near our best and consistently I’ve said we need to strive to get better and be more consistent.” Devine also acknowledged the team’s resilience, stating, “Good character from the players to come back and salvage a draw but we have to defend better than we did today.” Post navigation Construction Commences on East Sussex Sports Hub After £3.5m Football Grant Josh McErlean Set for WRC Top-Tier Debut with M-Sport in 2025
