An inquiry is currently in progress following a fire that consumed a disused building in a village. Emergency services were summoned to the incident on Haselbech Road in Kelmarsh at 04:00 GMT. Northamptonshire Fire and Rescue Service reported that eight appliances were engaged in tackling the blaze at its most intense phase, employing water jets to prevent its spread to nearby structures. No individuals sustained injuries, but the fire service indicated that the road remains shut, with two fire engines and an aerial appliance still on site to monitor for lingering hotspots and to dampen the building.
